States. These obligations include guaranteeing the safety of women who experience episodes of violence or are at serious risk to their physical integrity or life through access to shelters or safe houses.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This study, prepared by the MESECVI Committee of Experts, with support from the European Union&#8217;s EUROsocial Program and the Follow-up Mechanism, analyzes the regulatory framework for shelters in various Latin American countries, their capacities, distribution and challenges, such as the lack of resources and comprehensive services.
